Elsie, Lacie and Tillie are the sisters that reside in the Treacle Well. The Treacle Well - though a myth - is believed to possess magical healing powers. It is guarded by fate itself, as the girls come in threes, akin to three fates.
Cath meets these sisters for the first time when she breaks her ankle fighting the Jabberwock at the theater while with the King. Jest takes her there and she is healed by the Treacle after Jest pays a price for it.
Elsie, Lacie and Tillie taunt Cath, Jest, Hatta and Raven by singing, "Murderer, martyr, monarch, mad." They also tell the four a disturbing riddle about Peter Peter.
They refer to Peter's wife who turns into the Jabberwock after eating Cath's pumpkin cake and Mary Ann, who was wearing her hat that made her dream. Mary Ann thought she could prove Lady Peter was the Jabberwock and then be rewarded so much so that Cath might forgive her. Mary Ann later went into Peter's pumpkin patch and was caught though the sisters didn't tell of what came next.

Physical Attributes[]
All three have silver-white hair and pale milk-colored skin with huge black eyes. Though the three can be told apart by their hair. Elsie has short cropped hair, Tillie has hair down to her waist and Lacie has hair down to her ankles. They guard the maze from Hearts to Chess that holds the Looking Glass.
Each girl also has an animal mask that they wear and transform into. Lacie into a fox, Elsie into a racoon and Tillie into an owl.
